The Marvin

The Marvin project is the renovation of and addition to an existing, abandoned school building to create a child care center for 40 children, 50 apartments for congregate elderly housing and a community meeting space. The Marvin provides intergenerational programming, bringing the seniors and children together for reading, cooking, arts and other projects, fostering unique relationships for both age groups. The community room is rented as a function space to the greater community for events, and the renovation has become a symbol of revitalization in the neighborhood.
